Included in the materials you purchased is a card with a 12-digit enrollment key. What is the purpose of the Remember Me feature, and how does it work?

The purpose of the Remember Me feature is to eliminate the need for you to login every time you visit the learning site. When you select Remember Me when logging in, a cookie is placed on your computer. The next time you visit the learning site, the cookie communicates your identity to the system, which eliminates the need for you to login. If you commonly work on a computer that is used by other people who also access our learning site, you may want to turn the Remember Me feature off. To turn the Remember Me feature off, use the Personal Info tab.

What is the purpose of the pre-assessment?

A pre-assessment is an interactive test that is used to identify lessons in the course that you may not need to take. If you have never used the software you will be learning, it’s not necessary to take the pre-assessment; you need to take all the lessons. However, if you have used the software, taking the pre-assessment may be advisable–and may save you some time, if you prefer to skip lessons that are identified as “mastered.”

What is the purpose of the post-assessment?

The post-assessment can be taken after you have completed all of the lessons in the course. The post-assessment will generate a score indicating your understanding of the material.

Do I need to log out every time I leave the learning site?

Not necessarily. The logout feature enables you to end the current session and automatically turn the Remember Me feature off. If you share a computer with other people who are also accessing the learning site, you will want to log out at the end of each learning session. If you do not log out and another student uses the same computer to visit our site, the system will automatically log them in as you.

I clicked on the “Launch” button to run a course and nothing happened. Why is this?

A course is launched in a separate browser window. When you launch a second course without closing the first course, it is possible that the browser window containing the course will not be displayed on top of the current window. If this occurs, you can display the hidden browser window by selecting its icon in the Windows Task bar.
